To make a more authentic lever cap screw I needed a square thread tap. Looking at the screws on Mathieson, and Spiers planes they are 14 Threads Per Inch, with an outside dia. of 12mm, an interesting combination. I had some 12mm silver steel, so used that on the Drummond Bros. lathe I bought with the William Slomell tools in July 2008. click here to see some more about William Slomell.
