To make a more authentic lever cap screw I needed a square thread tap. Looking at the screws on Mathieson, and Spiers planes they are 14 Threads Per Inch, with an outside dia. of 20mm, an interesting combination. I had some 20mm silver steel, so used that on the Drummond Bros. lathe I just bought with the William Slomell tools. click here to see some more about William Slomell. |
